My Goal

To provide a comfortable, confidential, safe space where individuals, couples, and families can talk about the intimate details of their lives - even things they don't normally share with family members and close friends.

Through the process of . . .

Reflecting on internal personal and external relationship dynamics, I trust that the people I encounter in psychotherapy will acquire new insights, that will lead to effective changes in their lives.

I don't . . .

Know what is best for the people with whom I work. I don't make decisions for people. I don't coerce, manipulate, and employ other forms of persuasion to influence people to do what I think is best for them.

I trust . . .

That each individual is the "expert" concerning his or her life and has the internal resources to make changes that lead to more satisfying relationships and a happier life. I assist people in accessing and actualizing these resources.

I offer . . .

Various forms of feedback that foster greater awareness of personal and interpersonal dynamic patterns, tools to positively change troubling patterns, and support and encouragement as people experiment with new behavior. (I draw heavily from the Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) Model, but also utilize approaches from Psychodynamic, Gestalt, EMDR, Myers-Briggs, and Trauma-informed therapies.)
